COVID-19 Economic Recovery Strategies: Basic Income
This webinar will address a number of issues about the design of basic income policies, such as eligibility (universal x targeted), insertion into the social protection system (replacement x complementarity to existing programs), impact on the job market (beneficiary propension to work), feasibility (are UBI possible in developing countries?), impact (what does international experience teach us) and funding (budget-neutrality x progressive taxation). The debate aims to provide insights for the pos-Covid-19 economic recovery strategy.
